"His thunderous thighs shocked the world during the London 2012 Olympics - and they’re back again.

German cyclist Robert Förstemann left ITV presenter Sian Welby speechless in Manchester when she used a tape measure to find the circumference of one of his thighs was a whopping 28 inches.

They met at the National Cycling Centre last night for round three of the Revolution Series cycling event - and Ms Welby found one of his thighs was bigger than her waist by an inch.

"The tenth version of the South American Games has seen good, bad and ugly. The darkest moment came when velodrome officials failed to take away the starting block, with the crash leaving Aravena in hospital.

With her bike broken in two, Aravena was taken directly to Clinica Santa María and operated on late on Wednesday evening. While the operation was successful, the whole incident could have been avoided. The velodrome is the crown jewel in investment for the South American Games, but it came down to human error for the cause of the crash."

Legal Brief - Get Better Coverage

Legal Brief - Get Better Coverage

"Most riders won’t spend much time thinking about insurance. After all, what good could a car insurance policy do for you when you’ve been doored? And who cares about renter’s insurance when your bike was stolen off of the street?

Every rider should care and it’s important to be thinking about what your auto and homeowner’s insurance policies can do for you. As it turns out, these policies can mean the difference between getting slammed with medical bills or the cost of a new bike, and having those expenses paid in full.

If a driver crashes into you, their insurance policy should cover your expenses. But sometimes, the offending driver’s policy won’t cover everything. This is where your existing auto insurance policy comes into play. Your policy doesn’t just cover you when you’re driving, it can also apply when riding your bike. And that means any bike – including e-bikes and bike share systems

"Fixed-gear bicycles were once reserved for velodrome racers and bicycle messengers. However, recent years have seen gains in fixie use among recreational riders, leading to increased interest in cycling, a unique cultural scene, and controversy regarding the bike’s use."

GMR to Baldy with Gary F and John P

The Marathon Crash race was on, then off, then there was hope, then it was off.  In its place was a police led fun ride so I was out.

I was not going to wake up in the early morning for a fun ride when all year long I eagerly waited for the crash race.

Instead, I decided on my "go to" ride, Glendora Mountain Road to Mt. Baldy.  Gary F came along for the ride and somewhere before the first saddle I caught up to John P.

John P picked up the pace considerably and I chased him up to the top of Monroe.  That dude is quick and it just proves, I need to log some fixie GMR miles.  Fixed gear makes you strong, and John P has been riding GMR on his fixie almost daily.

Gary did really well.  He's got an Ironman coming up in June.  Gary has been logging a few miles with me @ Monday night,s Psycho List ride and he is improving everyday.

Since I started Strava, I've been set on improving my Sierra Madre/Glendora Mountain Road to the Maintenance Shed time.  Today was a good @ 55:56.

So what now?  I waited all year long and now this?

"Days before the Los Angeles Marathon, organizers canceled a popular nighttime bicycle race along the 26.2-mile route because they did not obtain the proper permits.

Every year since 2009, hundreds of cyclists have gathered in the dark along Sunset Boulevard in Silver Lake, waiting for road closures to begin along the marathon route, which stretches from Dodger Stadium to Santa Monica. Just after 4 a.m., cyclists swarm the streets to enjoy three hours of car-free fun on some of Los Angeles's normally most congested boulevards."

Psycho List MTB Sunday

Today I was actually hoping it would rain all day. I really didn't want to ride and just "not feeling it" wasn't a good enough excuse to take the day off. Beside, I have an exercise schedule and today isn't a recovery day. So when I woke up, and read the weather report, I knew I was going to ride today.

I decided on an adventure ride up Mt Baldy Rd. to Shin. Then I headed down Shin to Baseline and back up Mills for a loop around the Claremont Wilderness Trail.

I finished up pretty early so I decided to say hi to a group of Psycho List riders meeting at Euro Cafe for some MTB fun. There I met up with Richard, Trish and Dennis. They decided on a ride up CWT then down Marshal Canyon. I rode with them up to Mills/Baldy Rd before heading back home by way of Thompson Creek.
