Ride a bike, share your experience and love. When I go biking, I repeat a mantra of the day's sensations: bright sun, blue sky, warm breeze, blue jay's call, ice melting and so on. This helps me transcend the traffic, ignore the clamorings of work, leave all the mind theaters behind and focus on nature instead. I still must abide by the rules of the road, of biking, of gravity. But I am mentally far away from civilization. The world is breaking someone else's heart. ~Diane Ackerman

It's been a while - Potato Mountain

It's been a while since I've ridden my mountain bike.  It's been even longer since I've ridden my mountain bike to Potato!

I have been off the bike since last Saturday's Spooky Cross left me with bent in shifters, a flat tire and swollen knee.  Today, I had hoped to race MT SAC's Fat Tire Classic but with little time to prepare, I decided against it.  And frankly, my crash at Spooky Cross has left me a little timid.

The ride to Potato was good.  My pace was moderate, with little bits of hard efforts but not so much to open up the sweat flood gates.  It was cold this morning.  Sweat and cold don't mix well.

There were a few riders at the top of Potato. Eric G was up there.  It was nice seeing and catching up on life.

Mr and Mrs Potato on Potato Mtn and next to Coyote Poop!
