Ride a bike, share your experience and love. When I go biking, I repeat a mantra of the day's sensations: bright sun, blue sky, warm breeze, blue jay's call, ice melting and so on. This helps me transcend the traffic, ignore the clamorings of work, leave all the mind theaters behind and focus on nature instead. I still must abide by the rules of the road, of biking, of gravity. But I am mentally far away from civilization. The world is breaking someone else's heart. ~Diane Ackerman

Glendora Mountain Road to Mt. Baldy

Notes/Comments:
My place a great staging area for GMR to Mt. Baldy Ride.

Go number 2 before you get caught up GMR with NO bathroom & NO Toilet Paper.

Christian can ride down Mt. Baldy Road without hands on handlebar.

Did it again, made good time.

No cramping.

Rode up GMR to Mt Baldy with new rider [To me], Gary of West Covina.

Sikad NG Bayan - Pedal for the Nation

Today we rode up GMR to Mt Baldy. We met up with some guys from a group called Sikad NG Bayan, who ride to rebuild! Their love for cycling has evolved into something more and building upon their individual talents and skills are working towards giving back and improving living conditions in the Philippines.

“Not everyone can draw up a plan or erect a structure from the ground up … Sikad NG Bayan, are among many Filipinos abroad who [have] the desire to give back to their motherland.”

Marshal Canyon - By Way of Cyclocross

After church today, I decided on a quick ride up Marshal Canyon to Cobal Canyon. It was a fast lonely ride. Clouds hung low and a cold breeze traveled down the canyon.

At 12 pm, few riders were left on the trail. I came across a number of people on horse back and speckles of hikers walking their dogs. I exited the trail at Mills and Baldy Road, then headed up Baldy Road to Padua. Heading back home, I was faced with a gnarly headwind.

Total Trip, about 16 miles.

At 27 seconds back, it wasn't enough to secure a win for the day. Overall, Dave Zabriskie of GRM, is 9 seconds from leader and in second place. Entering tomorrows circuit race, Dave Zabriskie will have to pull out all the stops!

Tinker Juarez - We meet again!

Last year, I met Tinker Juarez outside a McDonalds on the way home from The Sea Otter Classic.

Today, I saw him outside the Cannondale Booth and snapped a picture with him and his 15lb Mountain Bike. For the record, when you see Tinker speeding up GMR with a backpack on his back, its full of rocks!

Tony Martin Wins Amgen TOC Stage 7

Tony Martin of HTC-Columbia wins Amgen TOC Stage 7 Time Trial. Tony takes the win with a time of 41:41 and an average speed of about 30 mph. Tony went all out, entering the finishing gate tired. Martin rested against the barriers awhile before stopping to take pictures with fans and finally exiting the field.
