Ride a bike, share your experience and love. When I go biking, I repeat a mantra of the day's sensations: bright sun, blue sky, warm breeze, blue jay's call, ice melting and so on. This helps me transcend the traffic, ignore the clamorings of work, leave all the mind theaters behind and focus on nature instead. I still must abide by the rules of the road, of biking, of gravity. But I am mentally far away from civilization. The world is breaking someone else's heart. ~Diane Ackerman

Glendora Mountain Road - FIXED

I rode up GMR to the top of Monroe a few days ago.  The air was hot but manageable and much of the road was blanketed in shade leading up to the first saddle.  I rode later in the day, after work actually, and GMR was quiet.

There were enough clouds in the air to contrast nicely with the blue sky and this made for great panoramic photos. Of course I forgot my camera and had to take pictures with my cell phone.  Its always difficult taking pictures with the cell phone.  I wish cell phone manufacturers made a phone with a excellent camera.

Have a great weekend off riding.

On voulait prendre aucun risque. Sans oublier de rester discret...

Un grand grand merci à tout les amis qui nous ont rejoint pour l'organisation et la sécurité, mais surtout à Kevin Demolis, Alexis Bosson, Killian Bron et Quentin Jaud.

GMR to Mt Baldy

With a little sleep and bit of soreness in the legs (Salsa dancing @ the Coco Palm), I got my self up at 5 am to start to prepare for an early moring ride to Mt Baldy.

Saturday's ride included Michael, John P, Gary F and Kevin H.  Saturday's ride was a special occasion!  This would be BOTH Gary and Kevin's first accent to Mt Baldy.

They both did great and rode strong despite the heat.

POLER Stuff on Sale - Better Act Fast

I was pleased when I received and email from Poler the other day.  20% off until Monday!  They have awesome great quality stuff for sale.  Check em out.

I was equally excited but then bummed out when I saw they had the Stumptown x Poler Camp Coffee kit.  I've been using an Aero Press since April and I love it.  The Aero Press changed me, changed the way I drink coffee and I have a much better appreciation for a good brew of coffee.  I would say, I've become a bit of a coffee snob because of my Aero Press.

The Stumptown x Poler Camp Coffee kit would make a great gift for anyone who drinks coffee.  So naturally, I was bummed to see it sold out so fast.

San Antonio, Texas

Spent a few days in San Antonio, Texas this week.  It was hot and humid but I had a blast.  I was surprised at the amount of bikes and bicyclist out during the day.  The fixie culture is strong in San Antonio.

One night I walked over to the Alamo.  It was an amazing building.

THE FIXED CHASE

THE FIXED CHASE from Skilluminati on Vimeo.
Sometimes you even can't imagine that the modest day of the week can turn out as a wild bike chase trough your home town. Eating kebab and waiting for the green light to turn on our mate "Humbis" also known as Helmuts Jaunzems - Pētersons woke up from the 'hit from behind' situation and with mashed fast food under his bike.

Chase was on. Mysterious persona definitely wasn't someone who he had known. Heavy traffic, cut corners and when the chasing seemed to cut loose finally both of them was standing face to face. Verdict? Never underestimate your opponent.

Vicious Cycle

Vicious Cycle from KPCC on Vimeo.
For six hours, the night riders of Los Angeles shut down the tile-covered 2nd Street runnel for the biggest bicycle drag race the city has ever seen.

More than 200 riders competed and organizers quickly winnowed the field to a group of the 16 fastest in women's and men's categories. Each rider wore an ankle bracelet that timed their efforts to the one-hundredth of a second. In the end, only two remained. The fastest people on two wheels in the City of Angels.

ROTWILD Enduro R.E1 bikes

| enduro is the essence of mountainbiking | Richie Schley and Manfred Stromberg riding in France from rotwild bikes on Vimeo.
| ROTWILD Enduro R.E1 bikes |

| Enduro to me is trail riding. The actual purist form of mountain biking. Me, my bike, the mountain and most times my buddies.

Dinge in France is a very unique desert landscape that has flowing, smooth, natural ridges, that create interesting lines to ride, all of the hills. The dirt is super nice with very few rocks in it, so you feel safe if you were to fall.

Manfred Stromberg and I headed out there to ride and shoot a special R.E1 video, with Seb Doerk for a few days. It is always fun do ride and shoot with Manfred because he loves riding, bikes and just being out there. Seb is a fun jolly photographer with a big passion for creativity. And he likes to laugh, so we make a great team, taking cheap shots at each other the whole day and laughing a lot.

With our ROTWILD E1 trail machines under us, we did just that and we hope you enjoy it. I know that I enjoyed my time with my buddies and had fun shooting the video.

Meet Kevin H - From Taiwan to Glendora Mountain Road

Earlier this week I got a text.

"Hi Jason, nice to meet u. This is Kevin. Can I join ur ride on Sat.?"

I reply.

"Kevin D?"

It wasn't Kevin D. It was Kevin H.  Kevin H., drove up to Michael Y, while Mike was riding in Diamond Bar.  Kevin H introduced himself and said he is new in town and into cycling.  They exchanged numbers and Mike agreed to show Kevin some of the local riding spots.

Kevin H. is from Taiwan and here in California for a few years on business. Kevin is an avid cyclist and is looking to meet Bicycle Friends.  Michael gave Kevin my number and we planned a Baldy trip for this Saturday.

Friday night Mike wasn't feeling good and opted out of the ride so it was just Kevin and me for this Baldy ride.  Kevin is a pretty cool guy.  He rode strong up GMR.  Unfortunately, I was pressed for time so we turned around at East Fork.

Real-Life Electric Jedi Hover-Bike Takes Off in Prague

"A flying electric bicycle made its first public voyage around a Prague convention center this week, taking off with a dummy on board and hovering in the air like a budget speeder bike from Star Wars.
The Design Your Dreams Flying Bike is the product of three Czech engineering firms who joined together to fulfill a shared childhood dream, and the result has been a year in the making. We first told you about Design Your Dreams last June, when the e-bike was still on the drawing board. Now, their first prototype has taken to the air, and it looks amazing."
