Ride a bike, share your experience and love. When I go biking, I repeat a mantra of the day's sensations: bright sun, blue sky, warm breeze, blue jay's call, ice melting and so on. This helps me transcend the traffic, ignore the clamorings of work, leave all the mind theaters behind and focus on nature instead. I still must abide by the rules of the road, of biking, of gravity. But I am mentally far away from civilization. The world is breaking someone else's heart. ~Diane Ackerman

Incycle's Bagel Ride

Today I decided to join the Incycle Bagel Ride for the first time.  The ride started a little later than 8 am in Rancho.  From Rancho we headed to LaVerne to pick up additional riders.  From LaVerne we headed to Bonelli Park.  Once we made the right onto Via Verde, the speed definitely picked up.  It was a hustle around the park until we regrouped off Puddingstone Drive and Fairplex. From there, we rode up San Dimas Canyon to Golden Hills.  While on San Dimas Canyon the pace slowly crept up in preparation for the ride up Golden Hills.  Golden Hills is short and steep just before Wheeler.  I had to cut the ride short and once on Baseline/Live Oak Canyon, I waved the riders goodbye and headed home.  I really enjoyed the Bagel Ride.  It was just enough to get my heart rate and blood flowing.  I haven't felt this way in a while.  Great ride and with good people.
