Ride a bike, share your experience and love. When I go biking, I repeat a mantra of the day's sensations: bright sun, blue sky, warm breeze, blue jay's call, ice melting and so on. This helps me transcend the traffic, ignore the clamorings of work, leave all the mind theaters behind and focus on nature instead. I still must abide by the rules of the road, of biking, of gravity. But I am mentally far away from civilization. The world is breaking someone else's heart. ~Diane Ackerman

Bonelli Park Mountain Bike Ride

Today Kevin, Khai and I did a nice mountain bike ride around Bonelli Park. It was the big loop that took us around the entire park. Total miles from the Park and Ride at Via Verde was 10.32 miles and it took about 1 hour 28 minutes of ride time.

It was really nice getting back on the mountain bike. Kevin performed really well with only a handful of stops during the ride. I think our road riding trips paid off! The trails were well maintained with little ruts, bumps and etc. I did take a low speed fall in the only rutty section of the ride. I new a crash was inevitable so I ditched my bike in a rut and somehow landed on my feet.

There were a lot of other riders from SoCalMTB.com and in their group was a husband, wife and child trio riding Bonelli on tandem and kid trailer.

We finished the ride later than I would have liked so no after ride feast. A few notes to myself, I need to get a camera to photograph all the interesting people I meet during my rides.
