Ride a bike, share your experience and love. When I go biking, I repeat a mantra of the day's sensations: bright sun, blue sky, warm breeze, blue jay's call, ice melting and so on. This helps me transcend the traffic, ignore the clamorings of work, leave all the mind theaters behind and focus on nature instead. I still must abide by the rules of the road, of biking, of gravity. But I am mentally far away from civilization. The world is breaking someone else's heart. ~Diane Ackerman

Reseda to the Sea (Victor Vicente of America's 80th B-Day)

Yesterday I joined several riders from the IE on a special 80th Birthday Ride.  The birthday boy is Victor Vincente of America, author, poet and founder of mountain biking. It was great seeing an eclectic blend of cyclist and bicycles; some young, some old and others in-between.  There were cool mountain bikes from the 1970's, 80's and 90's.  E-Bikes and gravel bikes joined in the mix as well.  We climbed over 4,000 ft in 24 miles.  Monte Smetherman kept saying, "just wait, it gets worse!"  It was a super fun day spent on the the dirt in celebration of a mountain biker icon, VVA.
