Ride a bike, share your experience and love. When I go biking, I repeat a mantra of the day's sensations: bright sun, blue sky, warm breeze, blue jay's call, ice melting and so on. This helps me transcend the traffic, ignore the clamorings of work, leave all the mind theaters behind and focus on nature instead. I still must abide by the rules of the road, of biking, of gravity. But I am mentally far away from civilization. The world is breaking someone else's heart. ~Diane Ackerman

My Single Speed/Fixed Gear Road Bike Project

I my getting a little bore and need a new project. I've been toying with the idea of putting together a SS Road bike for awhile and talking with Ron put me over the edge. I have collected a number of spare parts over the years and it looks like I have enough to build a SS speed road bike. We'll see what happens ...

Last year I built a Black SS Mountain Bike and its my favorite ride on the mountain. I would like to build a white SS road bike as an homage to Yin and Yang.

Here's a sweet Austro Daimler similiar to the one I have. Someone did a great job converting it to a fixie/SS. I kept mine 95% original. I just don't have the desire to convert it. For me its too nice. Picture from: (http://velospace.org/files/bike_1325.jpg)
