Ride a bike, share your experience and love. When I go biking, I repeat a mantra of the day's sensations: bright sun, blue sky, warm breeze, blue jay's call, ice melting and so on. This helps me transcend the traffic, ignore the clamorings of work, leave all the mind theaters behind and focus on nature instead. I still must abide by the rules of the road, of biking, of gravity. But I am mentally far away from civilization. The world is breaking someone else's heart. ~Diane Ackerman

Sprints!

I decided on sprinting up and down Garey Ave today. The bike of choice was my fixed gear Surly Steam Roller. About an eighth of a mile up Garey (Above Foothill) is a descent incline that progressively flattens out as you approach College. I decided on sprints up Garey Ave to College then I'd turn around and do it again and again and again.

I did this for thirty minutes. Besides wearing me out, I am not sure if it did anything for me in terms fitness (And of course the two chilli dogs after most likely undid any calories I burned while sprinting up and down Garey).

Riding makes me so hungry!
