Ride a bike, share your experience and love. When I go biking, I repeat a mantra of the day's sensations: bright sun, blue sky, warm breeze, blue jay's call, ice melting and so on. This helps me transcend the traffic, ignore the clamorings of work, leave all the mind theaters behind and focus on nature instead. I still must abide by the rules of the road, of biking, of gravity. But I am mentally far away from civilization. The world is breaking someone else's heart. ~Diane Ackerman

Fixie Bike Show at the LA Velodrome

Last Saturday was the first Fixie Bike Show at the La Velodrome.  There were a number of submissions that ranged from FGFS, true track bikes, messenger fixies, vintage track bikes, franken-fixies and etc.

My favorite was a Rock Lobster.  Since the early 1990's I have had a fondness for Rock Lobsters.  Paul Sadoff of RL is a great guy.  I had the opportunity to meet him a few years back in San Diego.

If I ever put down some money for a custom bike, RL is on the very short list of builders.  I want a fixed gear bike with standard road geometry and TWO water bottle mounts.

Here are a few photos I took.
