Ride a bike, share your experience and love. When I go biking, I repeat a mantra of the day's sensations: bright sun, blue sky, warm breeze, blue jay's call, ice melting and so on. This helps me transcend the traffic, ignore the clamorings of work, leave all the mind theaters behind and focus on nature instead. I still must abide by the rules of the road, of biking, of gravity. But I am mentally far away from civilization. The world is breaking someone else's heart. ~Diane Ackerman

LAVRA Night

Saturday night Meme and I headed to the LA Velodrome, with its steep banks and fast paced racing. We got there at about 6 pm, making it just in time for the women's Scratch race. That night we saw Keirin, Scratch and Madison racing.  The Madison proved to be the most exciting, watching racers fling their partner across the track.  It was calculated chaos!

Olympian Jimmy Watkins was there.  He raced men's Keirin and part of the Scratch before dropping out.

Your photos get better all the time Jason. These are really good. Were you there for the fixie bike show too?

Thanks. I was there for the fixie show but did not enter my bike. Next time, if there is, I will.

I still have fixie show pics to post. More to come.
