Ride a bike, share your experience and love. When I go biking, I repeat a mantra of the day's sensations: bright sun, blue sky, warm breeze, blue jay's call, ice melting and so on. This helps me transcend the traffic, ignore the clamorings of work, leave all the mind theaters behind and focus on nature instead. I still must abide by the rules of the road, of biking, of gravity. But I am mentally far away from civilization. The world is breaking someone else's heart. ~Diane Ackerman

MOUNTAIN FIXED: Mt. Wilson, Mt. Baldy and Mt. Palomar

It's been at least a little while since I first hopped on my track bike.  Ahhh, the beauty and simplicity, art and function, my track bike is easily becoming my GO TO Bike.

I started out riding it on my rollers in the garage, logging countless hours while listening to classic rock or Fox News in the early mornings and late evenings.  Then one day I decided to take it out on the road, Glendora Mountain Road.

I had no expectations, I just wanted to get to Sierra Madre and Glendora Mountain Road.  I did, and I kept going.  Then I made it to the gate and I kept going.  That day I made it to the maintenance shed.  I was thoroughly impressed with myself and after some time I finally made it to Mt. Baldy.

I've been to Mt. Baldy numerous times on my track bike and I've made a few fixie friends along the way.  I have a new goal and would like to see if anyone else is interested.  I want to ride back to back to back, Mt. Wilson, then Mt. Baldy and finally finish off with Mt. Palomar.  Three mountains one track bike.

Any Takers?

Who: Anyone with a Track Bike
What: Track Bikes, Fixed Gear Only!  Brakes Highly Recommended
When: TBD, but my goal is three consecutive Saturdays
Where: Mt. Wilson, Mt. Baldy and Mt. Palomar
Why: Why Not?
How: With great effort and determination (Maybe a little craziness too)

So who is interested.  Email me at bicyclefriends@gmail.com
