Ride a bike, share your experience and love. When I go biking, I repeat a mantra of the day's sensations: bright sun, blue sky, warm breeze, blue jay's call, ice melting and so on. This helps me transcend the traffic, ignore the clamorings of work, leave all the mind theaters behind and focus on nature instead. I still must abide by the rules of the road, of biking, of gravity. But I am mentally far away from civilization. The world is breaking someone else's heart. ~Diane Ackerman

How the Dutch got their Cycle Paths

Fascinating video on how the Dutch got their cycle paths.  The video discusses how certain events throughout history helped shape public policy from an auto-centric society to bicycle-cetric one.

Great video. The notion of carless Sundays is a good start. Holland has the advantage of being a nice flat country to cruise around as well. It was an entire country feeling the pain of their children and their willingness to change. Imagine if we had done the same in the 70s.
